SVICCAR organises a cancer screening camp and awareness session at National Sanskrit University

In collaboration with National Sanskrit University, SVICCAR organised a free screening for breast and cervical cancer, alongside an informative health session focused on cancer prevention

On 29th November 2023, the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Cancer Care & Advanced Research (SVICCAR) organised a screening camp for breast and cervical cancer, along with a health awareness session at National Sanskrit University, Tirupati. The primary objective of the programme was to raise awareness about cancer prevention, in alignment with SVICCAR’s commitment to social responsibility.

The screening camp took place at the university’s dispensary and saw the participation of 60 individuals between the ages of 30 and 60. Medical officers from the National Sanskrit University Health Centre worked diligently behind the scenes to make the screening camp a success.

The distinguished Prof. G. S. R. Murthy, Vice-Chancellor of National Sanskrit University, graced the programme as the chief guest. The Dean of Students Welfare, Prof. Radha Govind Tripathy, was the guest of honour. Dr. G. Anusha from SVICCAR was the keynote speaker for the health awareness session which drew a large audience of 200 students and faculty members.

This health awareness programme and screening camp marked a historical first for the university and SVICCAR team was appreciated for their outreach efforts. Pivotal role played by SVICCAR in providing free cancer screenings was highlighted and all attendees were encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
