On October 25, 2025, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Cancer Care and Advanced Research (SVICCAR), Tirupati, organised a special awareness programme, as part of its Breast Cancer Awareness Month observance. Students from various Intermediate, Degree, Polytechnic, Nursing and Pharmacy colleges were invited to participate in the event.
In continuation of its month-long campaign, Team SVICCAR had earlier conducted awareness sessions across several colleges, where independent competitions were organised. The best-performing teams from these colleges advanced to the final rounds, including Rangoli, Poster Presentation, Elocution, and Quiz, all centred around cancer awareness, with a special focus on breast cancer and women’s health held at SVICCAR on October 25, 2025. Around 300 students participated enthusiastically in the event.
The awareness session was led by Dr Prasanth Penumadu, Medical Director, SVICCAR, who explained the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures related to breast cancer, and highlighted the advanced facilities available at SVICCAR. Consultants from various departments engaged with students during interactive group sessions, which encouraged one-on-one discussions and helped clarify several queries related to cancer prevention and early detection.
The event concluded with an appreciation ceremony, where mementos were presented to participating colleges, and medals, certificates, and gifts were awarded to the winners and runners-up of the competitions. The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks, marking a successful and impactful awareness initiative by SVICCAR.
