The conference served as a vibrant platform where clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals came together to discuss advances, innovations and emerging practices in thoracic oncology
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Cancer Care and Advanced Research (SVICCAR), a unit of the Tata Cancer Care Foundation, successfully hosted NALCCON 2025, the 16th Annual Conference of the Indian Society for Study of Lung Cancer (ISSLC), on November 15-16, 2025, at Fortune Select Grand Ridge, Tirupati.
The two-day National Lung Cancer Conference welcomed more than 350 clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals from across India, creating a vibrant platform for scientific exchange, interactive learning, didactic lectures and focused panel discussions on the evolving landscape of lung cancer care.

Workshops that elevated clinical excellence
A key feature of NALCCON 2025 was a series of skill-building, hands-on workshops, designed to enhance clinical expertise and promote best practices.
One-Lung Ventilation (OLV) workshop
The workshop provided anesthesiologists and thoracic teams practical, hands-on training in lung isolation, airway management and advanced ventilation strategies essential for thoracic surgeries. Expert faculty guided attendees through real-world troubleshooting and intraoperative challenges, helping strengthen regional capacity in safe and effective thoracic anesthesia.
Surgical Video workshop
This interactive session showcased high-quality surgical videos from complex thoracic oncology procedures. Leading surgeons explained operative decision-making, technical nuances and minimally invasive approaches, while participants engaged in thoughtful discussions on case complexities, innovations and evolving methods in lung cancer surgery. The sessions effectively bridged theory with practical surgical experience.
Bronchoscopy workshop
Designed to refine diagnostic and therapeutic skills, the Bronchoscopy workshop offered hands-on training in airway inspection and evaluation, endobronchial sampling techniques and navigation skills and procedural safety.
Participants benefited from guided practice sessions that enhanced proficiency and confidence in performing bronchoscopy — an essential component of early lung cancer diagnosis.
Inaugural ceremony and plenary messages
The inaugural ceremony was graced by eminent leaders and distinguished guests, including:
Speakers highlighted the growing burden of lung cancer in India and underscored the importance of decentralised, high-quality cancer care to meet this rising need. They spoke about Tata Trusts’ commitment to expanding access and affordability in cancer services and stressed the importance of public–private partnerships. The discussions also touched upon the necessity of integrating lung cancer care into undergraduate medical training to build early awareness among future clinicians. Above all, the speakers reinforced the critical role of timely screening, community education and sustained awareness efforts in reducing the impact of lung cancer across the country.
The conference concluded with an engaging scientific session on innovations in lung cancer prevention, screening, diagnostics and treatment. SVICCAR extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, faculty, delegates, sponsors and media partners for contributing to the success of NALCCON 2025.
