SVICCAR, Tirupati, successfully organized the Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Conference on Oncology Nursing Excellence on March 28, 2026. The conference was conducted under the theme “Educate, Empower, Evolve – Strengthening Infection Control in Cancer Care,” highlighting the critical role of nursing in ensuring patient safety and quality care.
A total of 247 nursing professionals participated in the program, demonstrating strong commitment toward enhancing infection prevention practices in oncology settings. The conference featured expert-led sessions on key topics such as workplace safety, surgical site infections (SSI), CLABSI, VAE/VAP, hand hygiene, and antimicrobial stewardship. Interactive discussions enabled participants to exchange knowledge and gain deeper insights into best practices in infection control.
The program also included hands-on workshops focusing on infection control bundle documentation, including VAP, CLABSI, SSI, and CAUTI protocols, along with IV care and CVAD handling. These practical sessions helped strengthen the clinical skills of nursing professionals.
Dr. Prasanth Penumadu, Medical Director, emphasized the importance of continuous nursing education in improving patient safety and care outcomes. The conference concluded successfully, reinforcing SVICCAR’s commitment, in association with the Tata Cancer Care Foundation, to excellence in oncology nursing and patient care.
